Provincial Minister Health Jam Mehtab Hussain Dahar on Thursday ordered to remove 39 doctors from their service due to long absence while 27 doctors were issued final show-cause notices and in case they fail to comply with the orders they will be fired too.
This was decided in a meeting called for personal hearings of absent doctors. The health minister told that so far more than 130 absent doctors had been dismissed from their services, most of them female doctors.
It is pertinent to add that most of the doctors went on ex-Pakistan leave but did not return and their removal from service would send a warning message to ghost employees in the health department. He said since he had resumed the portfolio of minister health, 435 absent doctors had been issued show-cause notices to join their duties and if they failed to do so, they would also be terminated from their services. He said he would not spare any ghost employees in the health department and no pressure would be tolerated in this regard.
