Youth Drama Festival to entertain Islamabad from today

 

Presenting a fusion of performances by various theatre groups from across the country, the week-long Youth Drama Festival is all set to entertain fun lovers of federal capital from March 28 to April 24 at Pakistan National Council of the Arts (PNCA).

Students from various colleges, universities and amateur theatre groups will entertain the people of the twin cities with their selected dramas coinciding World Theatre Day.

Various theatre groups will perform during the festival with their plays based on social issues. Around 10 plays will be staged at the festival while best plays will be awarded in various categories.

The trend of quality and thoughtful theatre plays an important role in highlighting and resolving issues like education, training and social problems. The history of theatre is connected to the human history and leads towards revolutions in shaping the society, said the organizers.

Besides giving quality entertainment to Islooites, the event will also promote healthy activities among the youngsters and revive the concept of theatre in the twin cities with theme of promoting peace, love and harmony.
