Pakistan’s five-member Joint Investigation Team (JIT) constituted to investigate Pathankot terror attack reached India on Sunday.
Sources said the JIT, which reached New Delhi through a special aircraft, will be allowed to question witnesses of the attack.
The five-member delegation comprises chief of Punjab’s Counter Terrorism Department (CTD), Additional Inspector General of Police Muhammad Tahir Rai, Lahore’s Deputy Director General Intelligence Bureau Mohammad Azim Arshad, Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) Lt Col Tanvir Ahmed, Military Intelligence Lt Col Irfan Mirza and Gujaranwala CTD Investigating Officer Shahid Tanveer.
Reports said the team will also be allowed to quiz 17 people who were injured in the attack.
This will be the first time a Pakistani investigation team travels to India to investigate a terror attack.
Four Indian military men were killed when a group of terrorists stormed Pathankot airbase on January 2 of this year. All of the attackers were eliminated by the Indian troops.
