Provincial Minister for Education Rana Mashhood Ahmed Khan has said that education is a key to progress and prosperity of the country. He said if visionary leadership becomes available to the educated young generation, then destiny of the country can be changed within a few years.
He said that in light of the educational vision of Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif, development of the country is being ensured through the provision of necessary facilities to the public and private schools of the province.
He expressed theses views while addressing annual prize distribution ceremony of a local school at Gulshan-e-Ravi today. The minister distributed prizes among position holder girl and boy students and their teachers.
He said that Pakistan’s children have proved their mettle time and again, adding that they keep making the nation and country proud by winning international prizes in different categories.
Rana Mashhood Ahmed Khan said that Punjab government has provided proper platforms to the youth for displaying their abilities. Necessary infrastructure is being provided to the children for extra-curricular activities so they can move forward in sports along with education, he added. He said that the provincial education department has proved its commitment to the sector by allocating 27 per cent of the budget for education.
He said that Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif is also taking practical steps in order to raise the standard of education for students by paying surprise visits to different educational institutions. He said that rates of enrollment and attendance of teachers have increased adding that the cheating mafia has been eliminated from examination system which has resulted in emergence of real talent in schools. Position holder students are sent on foreign visits and it is a proof that government is making sincere and untiring efforts for improving the status of education, he added.
