The Supreme Court (SC) has rejected a plea by Watan Party Chief Barrister Zafarullah seeking revival of his already dismissed petition on construction of Kalabagh Dam.

A three-member SC bench headed by Justice Gulzar Ahmad on Friday remarked “your petition is time barred. Several days have elapsed; therefore, we cannot hear the petition filed after a delay of 97 days”.

Barrister Zafarullah prayed to the court that the case was dismissed by the court earlier due to non-pursuance, and that it should be restored now.

The court, however, said that the old petition could not be restored, but that the barrister was free to file a new one.

  1. Construction if KBD has been blocked by the negative politics of this country. The only hope is Appex Court who can help solve this problem. The Nation would be most grateful to the Judiciary if they can pave way for construction of the dam. Only days ago, we have observed World Water Day and conserving water is first and most important necessity for the coming generations.
