Alleged negligence of doctors at a private hospital claimed lives of a pregnant woman and her baby boy here on Friday.
According to details, Parveen Akhtar, 25, had been brought to a private hospital on Sheikhupura Road for delivery, but alleged negligence of doctors claimed her life as well as her child’s.
Later, her family and relatives blocked Sheikhupura Road in protest, broke the windowpanes of the hospital. Later they set fire to a car of Dr Shafiq, the hospital’s owner. Later, the protesters also torched two motorbikes. They kept Sheikhupura Road blocked for 2 hours and demanded arrest of the doctor.
Police officials arrived on the scene and the road was opened for traffic after negotiations with the protesters.
