NAB Rawalpindi arrests ex-circle registrar of ICT Cooperatives Dept

 

The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Rawalpindi has arrested Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) Cooperative Housing Societies (Cooperatives Department) ex-circle registrar Malik Din on charges of misuse of authority while he was administrator of Federation of Employees Cooperative Housing Society, E-11/1, E-11/2 Islamabad.

The accused Malik Din, by misusing his authority as administrator of the Housing Society, illegally sold the graveyard and school plots of the housing scheme to private parties for personal gain.

NAB also alleged that the accused Malik Din made assets worth millions of rupees in posh sectors of Islamabad such as I-8 and in private housing schemes. A raid was conducted on his house in Islamabad from where documents regarding plots owned by him and other official records were recovered along with currency, four Kalashnikovs, magazines and bottles of liquor. Further investigation is under way.
