NBP to install fake currency detectors in its branches: president

National Bank of Pakistan President Syed Ahmed Iqbal Ashraf has said that the bank would install detective machines at its branches to discard fake currency notes in the larger interest of general public.

He was talking to media after inauguration of an ATM Mechine at National Press Club Islamabad on Thursday. He said the NBP was a national institution whose aim was to provide services to the people on priority basis.

“We are working to upgrade the capacity of automated teller machine (ATM) to modernise the infrastructure of NBP to meet the international standard of international banking,” he added.

He said the NBP was committed to facilitating the people and providing them better service in urban and rural areas of the country. Syed Ahmed Iqbal said the NBP had given the ATM card to the 2.5 lakh pensioners all over the country to facilitate them to get their pension in respectful way. He said the Bank had installed the ATM on utility basis, including the urban and rural areas in all branches of the country.
