Becoming a public figure can be difficult. On the one hand, you become a household name and are easily recognizable from the masses of people just oozing talent. On the other hand, you amd your personal life are considered public property. Fans consider it their perogrative to determine what you should wear, how you should make your career choices and most importantly: who you should date.
Case in point: fans of former 1 direction singer Zayn Malik have determined that his perfect match is Bollywood diva Deepika Padukone.
The internet is full of photoshopped images of the two together with the hashtag #zaypika. Some of the work is actually quite impressive, with expert level photoshop skills employed to produce eerily lifelike depictions of the two together.
Not satisfied with merely making images, people have taken to writing fanfiction about the two stars.
The fact that both stars are in relationships – Zayn with model Gigi Hadid and Deepika with Ranveer Singh – does not seem to matter to these internet matchmakers.
