A pro-women transport service

It takes a huge effort to travel from one corner of the city to another in a densely populated city like Lahore. I am a student and I have to face great difficulty to get to my educational institution. I always wonder if there would be any transport system that would provide women an honorable means of transport. Lahore Metro Bus project was one of its kind and now the government of Punjab has taken a step forward by initiating a mega Project like Orange Line Metro Train Project. It’s a pro-poor transportation service that would provide the people of Lahore an environment friendly and modern means of transportation which will eventually decrease the pollution, other transport issues and heavy traffic problems. It will also be meeting the international standards, state of the art, honorable, comfortable and economic mode of transport for the women belonging to provincial capital of the biggest province.

Knowing this project, it seems to be a breath of fresh air for the women of Lahore and is going to empower them as equal entity of the society. I feel so lucky that I belong to the province where the provincial government is working really hard in true sense to give women equal socio-economic rights so they can contribute to the welfare of society on an equal footing with men.

We, as responsible citizens, must ensure full cooperation from our sides rather than acting as change resisting society and creating hurdles in the way of such a project. I can’t wait till its completion
