Muttahida Qaumi Movement’s (MQM) has announced that it will be postponing Clean Karachi Campaign indefinitely.
The decision comes in the wake of the arrests of MQM workers and the departure of its leaders to abroad.
The decision was taken during an emergency meeting called by the Rabita Committee. Acccording to the issued statement, the campaign is being suspended in light of the arrests of its workers.
The Rabita Committee has stated that MQM was being stopped from running the campaign. The Committee added that the party’s Union Council chairman Nasir Hussain, who was engaged in the campaign, has been arrested.
The Committee further stated that attempts are being made to push MQM against the wall.
The ‘Clean Karachi Campaign’ was started by the party 10th of March and has now been suspended after 11 days.
