Rangers arrested Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) Rabita Committee’s Deputy Convener Shahid Pasha, in a raid at his apartment in the Gulistan-i-Jauhar, Karachi, on Monday morning.
MQM spokesperson Wasay Jalil confirmed that Pasha was taken by Rangers into their custody.
The Rangers have not issued an official statement regarding the arrest yet.
Pasha was made deputy convener of the Rabita Committee a year ago and is believed to be an important figure in MQM’s organisational structure.
The arrest comes days after MQM leader Dr Farooq Sattar accused the Rangers of torturing and interrogating “40 under-trial prisoners” belonging to the MQM imprisoned at Karachi Central Jail, and “pressuring the workers to leave the party”.
He alleged the workers were being forced to fill out a pro forma and told that they would be allotted every facility in prison, cases against them would be withdrawn and they would be released only if they changed their loyalty.
An unknown face though. He was instrumental in L&O situation of all sorts in his area, particularly making hostage residents of larger Housing buildings – like Rabia City in Gulshan-e-Johar and collecting maximum Bhatta, ordering murders and controlling street crimes in his locality. Hope much will come out from him.
WTF.. you didn't even know his face.. how can you say so many stupid allegations against a person.. this is just enforcement so that he can join mk party.. because he was a known associate during mk era.. but he was clean so he left the party…

PPP cannot block the PIA privatization bill it need MQM support…PML-N has 216 votes out of 446 but it need 223 …recently 2 MQM workers was killed in custody and arrest of Pasha so that MQM which has 31 votes stayed away from the joint session PML get simple majority under article 72(4) and the bill will be passed..dirty political game of PML
