Information Minister Pervez Rashid has said that the government will implement the Women Protection Act at every cost.

“Laws are being framed for providing due status to women and for the protection of their rights. Legislation was enacted for protection of women against violence. Government will implement these laws,” he said this while addressing a photograph exhibition on Monday under Nazria Council Pakistan.

“The daughters of the nation have boosted the status of Pakistan by winning a cricket match against Indian assuaging the pain felt by the nation over losing the match by our sons against India,” he said adding “I congratulate the women cricket team for the victory”.

“It was the vision of our Quaid that justice and equal rights should be given to every Pakistan. There should be no discrimination among the citizens of Pakistan. Pakistanis don’t accept any discrimination. All are enjoying equal rights,” he said.

Pakistan’s role and importance has also been recognised by the international community, he said adding the entire world has lauded the steps taken by Pakistan and our armed forces for weeding out terrorism from the country. The sacrifices rendered by our armed forces, masses, youth and women for elimination of terrorism will not go waste, he said.

“We want good friendly relations with all neighbouring countries including India so that peace prevails in the region and for alleviation of poverty,” he said.
