The Punjab government has issued directives to the District Environment Protection Department to take action against factories and industries causing environmental pollution.
According to sources, the government has also directed the authorities to form committees to assess damaging effects caused by environmental and noise pollution. The directives have been issued after citizens flooded the provincial authorities with complains. The committees will also check whether these factories and industries pay utility bills and they were connected to national grids.
