Armed forces have completed preparations for Pakistan Day parade while full dress rehearsals ended in Shakarparian Parade Ground.

Frontier Corps (FC) contingents also took part in the parade rehearsals among army, navy and Pakistan Air Force (PAF).

The line-up of Pakistan Day parade included northern light infantry, Islamabad Police, women officers of the armed forces, Pakistan Navy, Pakistan Army, and Pakistan Air Force, nursing services, boys scout, girls guide and Special Services Group (SSG).

Contingents of the mechanical wing, armed corps, Army Strategic Command Force, artillery and Army Air Defence rehearsed for the big day as well.

Chief of Air Staff (CAS) Air Chief Marshal Sohail Aman led a flypast of F-16s, JF-17 Thunders, F-7PG fighter jets and others on the parade. Navy and army aviation copters also participated in the display.

Sher Dil formation of the PAF will offer special air stunts and paratroopers from all three armed forces will amuse the onlookers as well.

Mobile phone services were shut in Rawalpindi and the federal capital until 3:00pm on Monday in light of full dress rehearsals.

Traffic flow from Rawal Dam to Faizabad flyover was disrupted while heavy vehicles were barred from entering the federal capital until 1:00pm. Zero Point was also shut for all kinds of traffic.

The entrance of heavy traffic will again be shut on Monday night at 12:00am until 3:00pm on Wednesday (March 23).

Armed forces and the nation celebrated Pakistan Resolution Day in 2015 after a seven-year gap. Annual parades were earlier avoided due to security threats; however, successful countermeasures including Operation Zarb-e-Azb in tribal parts cleared potential threats.
