Record of all police stations to be computerised by May 15, IG Punjab says

Inspector General (IG) of Police Punjab Mushtaq Ahmad Sukhera has said that record of all police stations in the province is being computerised and the process would be completed by May 15.

During his visit to Sargodha on Saturday, he said that graduate IT experts are being deputed in all police stations. He said that more police training schools will be set up to overcome the shortage of force in different districts.

Due to shortage of training centres, 16,500 personnel are yet to start their training. They will be equipped with modern training in order to meet the requirement of trained force in the province.

The IGP said that through the use of information technology the police department is being interlinked, which will be helpful in controlling crimes, exchanging data of criminals, checking the theft of vehicles and nabbing professional criminals.

He inaugurated different projects including the citizen facilitation centre, where people can get facilities under one roof, including driving license, police verification, character certificate and report of missing documents.

RPO Sargodha Zulfiqar Hameed was also present on the occasion.
