Federal Minister for Planning and Development Ahsan Iqbal has stressed the need for providing equal education opportunities to all male and female students belonging to both urban and rural areas.
He said that the government was striving to curb the menace of illiteracy by spreading the light of knowledge and education and promoting the public-private partnership in education sector.
He expressed these views while addressing the participants of a prize distribution ceremony held at Govt. Muslim Postgraduate College for Women Narowal here on Saturday.
The minister distributed the cash stipends among the deserving students under the Punjab Education Endowment Fund.
Local MPA Khawaja Waseem Butt, Deputy Director Colleges Narowal Murad Ali Gondal, Principal Raheela Riaz, local notables and senior officials of Punjab Education Foundation (PEF) were also present on the occasion.
Federal Minister Ahsan Iqbal urged the teachers and parents to focus on character building of the students and stressed the need for bringing change in our social attitude to promote quality education for all. He said students were the future of the country and all of us should secure their future by ensuring their easy access to quality education.
