Four terrorists among 6 suspects killed in encounters

Police on Saturday claimed to have shot dead six suspects including four terrorists of outlawed organisations during separate encounters in different areas. Ammunition, suicide jackets and explosive material were recovered from their possession.

According to police, police conducted a raided in Kashmir Colony of Mehmoodabad after receiving a tip off from the intelligence department about presence of terrorists. The suspects opened fire on the police party and in retaliation two suspected terrorists were shot dead. Police said the suspects belonged to banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) outfit. Weapons, suicide jackets and explosive material were recovered from possession of the killed terrorists.

In a similar raid conducted in Manghopir area of the city, two suspects were killed during the exchange of fire. A motorcycle and ammunition were recovered from the suspects. Police officials said that a bomb was attached with the motorcycle which was defused by the Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS).

The perpetrators were identified as Zain-ud-Din and Murtaza. The culprits had attacked the city court with grenades and then fled the scene in 2010. As bounty of Rs 1 million each had been fixed on heads of suspects. The exterminated terrorists were also involved in attacks on police and security forces. On the other hand, two drugs dealers were shot dead while two others were arrested in injured condition during a clash with the police in Purani Sabzimandi area.

Rangers also apprehended four operatives of a militant wing from Gulshan-e-Iqbal and Gudap areas. Ammunition was also recovered from the felons.
