Foreign policy is considered an area where US presidents have unfettered power, which makes it one of the most sensitive and important aspects of governance. No president can keep up to date of the intricacies of the international arena without advisers, but it appears Presidential hopeful Donald Trump think otherwise.
“I’m speaking with myself, number one.”
Interestingly, unlike previous elections where foreign policy luminaries make attempts to stress their closeness to a particular candidate, Republican foreign policy experts aren’t vying to get close to Trump.
Trump has bragged about “getting the best people” but has not yet released names.
Instead, he has claimed that his primary adviser is himself.
“I have a very good brain… my primary consultant is myself, and I have a good instinct for this stuff.”
