Pak-Iran gas pipeline to resolve energy crisis in Pakistan: envoy

Ambassador of Iran to Pakistan Mehdi Honardoost has said that the Pak-Iran gas pipeline will help to resolve energy crisis of Pakistan at cheaper rates. Iran will also provide 3,000 mega watt of electricity to Pakistan at low price.He was talking to journalists at National Press Club on Friday. He said that Pak-Iran gas pipeline would offer inexpensive gas to Pakistan whereas its construction cost would also be incredibly meager. He said the current volume of bilateral trade between Pakistan and Iran was almost 100 million USD, which would be enhanced to five billion dollars. A free trade agreement between the two countries is on the cards which would be finalised soon. With the FTA, the cost of shipment between Pakistan and Iran would be much reduced, and the economy of both the countries would excel.
