Apropos news item – “NAB to probe money-laundering case against PM in US” published in a section of press, the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has refuted and termed it as baseless and unfounded.
According to a NAB statement, the Bureau adheres to policy of not discussing individual cases in media. “However, NAB is mindful of some irresponsible elements peddling scandalous and sensational rumours in garb of journalism,” said the statement.
“NAB wishes to assert that no such action is under consideration. It is hoped that in true spirit of responsible journalism, an effort would always be made to verify authenticity of the news item before going to print.”
