The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) on Friday initiated a probe against former Balochistan chief minister Nawab Aslam Raisani for excessive use of powers and making illegal appointments.
According to NAB sources, Raisani has admitted that he had made illegal appointments of three naib tehsildars (revenue officers).
NAB documents detail that illegal appointments had been made with the assistance of former provincial revenue minister Zamurk Khan. Also, the chief secretary has written a dissenting note.
It may be mentioned that the three appointments had been made against the directives of the Supreme Court. Former chief minister Raisani and other officials used powers beyond their portfolios in making the appointments of three revenue officials.
