Imran Khan criticises govt for letting Musharraf go

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan on Friday criticised the government over General (r) Pervaiz Musharraf’s departure from the country.

In a poetic tone, Khan went on to say, “Nadaan gir gaya sajday mein, jab waqt-e-qayaam aya”.

He was talking to media outside his Bani Gala residence in Islamabad before leaving for Kolkata, India.

Imran Khan said that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif had vowed not to let Musharraf leave but now he is silent on the issue.

He denied the reports of the alleged secret agenda of D-Chowk sit-in alliance, adding that he is unaware of Tahirul Qadri’s presence in India.

While commenting on India-Pakistan World T20 clash, he said that the game carries a lot of pressure and is important for both sides.

He confirmed that his meeting with the national team is due today (Saturday) in which he will try to prepare them mentally and will advise the players according to his experience.

He said that Himachal Pradesh was not a suitable destination for Pakistan to play the match as their chief minister’s statement was against the norms of hospitality.

Responding to a question, Khan said that he does not have time for cricket anymore and politics is more important and a challenging game for him.

Meanwhile, Awami Muslim League (AML) Chief Sheikh Rashid also left for Kolkata to watch the India-Pakistan match. Talking to media, he said that he has always maintained contacts with opposition leaders Imran Khan and Dr Qadri. He said the Indo-Pakistan clash was no less than the World Cup final, adding that he would return to Pakistan the next day after match.
