The Islamabad High Court (IHC) has directed Malik Tahir Mehmood, counsel for General (r) Pervez Musharraf, to file the copy of the Supreme Court decision and the Interior Ministry’s notification about removal of the former president’s name from the ECL (Exit Control List).
IHC Justice Amir Farooq issued the orders while taking up a petition filed by Musharraf’s counsel challenging a decision of a trial court that has issued a non-bailable arrest warrant for him in Ghazi Abdul Rashid murder case.
The counsel told the court that he had filed two medical reports belonging to his client and orders of the subordinate court in the IHC.
He further told the court that the SC has rejected an appeal plea by federation against Musharraf and the interior ministry has issued a notification removing his client’s name from the ECL.
The court remarked “you will have to submit a copy of the SC decision on rejection of federation appeal plea and the interior ministry’s notification regarding removal of Musharraf’s name from the ECL”.
The court adjourned the hearing till April 28.
