Three new bills – the Sir Syed Centre for Advanced Studies in Engineering Institute of Technology, Islamabad Bill, 2016, the Pakistan Council for Science and Technology Bill, 2016 and the Benami Transactions (Prohibition) Bill, 2016 were introduced in the National Assembly on Friday.
NA Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq referred the bills to the concerned committees for further deliberation.
State Minister for Federal Education and Professional Training Muhammad Baligh Ur-Rehman, Minister for Climate Change Zahid Hamid on behalf of Minister for Defence Production and Science and Technology Rana Tanveer Hussain and Minister for Finance Mohammad Ishaq Dar moved the bills in the House.
Meanwhile, Daniyal Aziz on behalf of Chairman Standing Committee on Finance Qaiser Ahmed laid a report of the committee in the bill to further amend the Foreign Exchange Regulation Act, 1947 [The Foreign Exchange Regulation (Amendment) Bill, 2014] in the House.
Malik Shakir Bashir Awan, chairman of the Standing Committee on National Food Security, presented the periodical report of the committee ended on December 31, 2015.
