The finance ministry has turned down the plea of Pakistan International Airplane (PIA) to compensate its losses.

The national flag carrier has incurred substantial loss after angry employers’ protest against privatisation. The PIA officials met with Finance Minster Ishaq Dar and requested him to compensate Rs 5 billion to make the national flag functional for next six month. However, the finance minister refused to compensate the loss and told them to utilise its own facilities to run the national flag carrier. Dar directed the ministry to work collaboratively with the aviation to overcome the crisis in the national flag carrier.
