All-rounder of Pakistan women cricket team, Javeria Khan, was injured as she tried to pull away a bouncer delivered by West Indies pacer Shamilia Connel during a World T20 match on Wednesday.
Pakistan played well against West Indies batting line-up and tried to chase the target of 104 runs. However, West Indies restricted Pakistan from achieving the target and Pakistan only managed to score 99 for the loss of 5.
According to reports, Javeria was trying to pull the ball, but misjudged and it hit her on the jaw and neck.
She was taken out of the field following the incident.
“We have heard from the medical staff that she’s stable and out of danger,” a team official said, adding the player will be kept under observation for another 24 hours at a hospital in Chennai.
