A student died while another was hurt after they were hit by a police mobile van here on Tuesday.
Rescue sources said that a police mobile hit two school-going children in Mumtazabad area of Multan causing instant death of one and leaving the other seriously wounded.
The body and the injured student were shifted to Nishtar Hospital, Multan, for medico-legal formalities and treatment.
After the incident, relatives of the two students and locals staged a protest. Senior police officials visited the protestors and assured them that a legal action would be taken against the responsible cops after which the protesters dispersed peacefully.
