Around 300 house owners in the capital have been served final notices to provide details of their tenants to the police.
The final notices have been issued on the directives of the interior minister who has asked the police to collect details of residents including foreigners in Islamabad.
Due to security concerns, the interior ministry has been trying to register every individual residing in the federal capital for the last 18 months.
“Around 430 house owners had refused to give details of their foreigner tenants during a household survey conducted by NADRA and police,” sources in the interior ministry and the police said.
According to the sources, of the 300 houses, 185 were located in Kohsara police limits, 99 in the Margalla police jurisdiction, while the rest were found around the capital.
