- Top PML-N leader address election rally in NA-153
Central Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz leader Hamza Shehbaz has said that “our politics is not for the power, but for serving the masses, resolving problems facing the country and putting it on the road to progress and prosperity”.
Addressing a public meeting of PML-N candidate Rana Muhammad Qasim Noon for the NA-153 by-polls, Hamza asked Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf chief Imran Khan to stop “joking” with the people, and realise the sanctity of vote of the people of Pakistan.
He also said that those who had raised a hue and cry for over two-and-a-half years over what they termed “rigging” and approached the courts against the present government had received the “answer”.
The PML-N leader said that mothers of those who sacrificed their lives in the war against terrorism knew the value of freedom. “Contrary to it, the statement of Imran Khan regarding opening office of Taliban was tantamount to adding insult to their injuries,” he added.
Hamza said that Imran Khan would continue raising a hue and cry while the citizens of Multan would soon start travelling in cool metro buses after initiation of the project in Lahore and Rawalpindi. “We know the problems of farmers who are working day and night for the development of the country,” he added.
He said the country of Quaid-e-Azam would be made prosperous through the $ 46 billion investment by China, and added that those doing politics of lie and allegations would be held accountable after two and a half years.
The PML-N leader also said he had come to win the hearts of the people and not the election. He expressed the hope that after winning the by-election on March 17, all problems of the NA-153 constituency would be resolved on a priority basis.
He said that the mission of Nawaz Sharif who became the prime minister for the third time was to put the country on the road to progress in the real sense. “We will come up to the expectations of the people and overcome all important problems including load-shedding by 2018,” he added.
Candidate from NA-153 Rana Muhammad Qasim Noon, Dewan Ashiq Bukhari, Mehdi Abbas, Naghma Mushtaq Laang, Syed Javed Ali Shah, Shaukat Hayat Noon, Rana Mehmood-ul-Hassan and Abdul Ghaffar Dogar, while addressing the public meeting, said that the NA-153 had always been the bastion of PML-N and expressed the hope that the people would vote for the party.
Earlier, a large number of people warmly welcomed Hamza and raised slogans in his favour. The youth were dancing on the party songs. The venue of the meeting was jam-packed and the media termed it the biggest political gathering of the area.
