Army chief General Raheel Sharif has lauded efforts of the Pakistan Ordinance Factory (POF) in meeting arms and ammunition requirements for the continuing Operation Zarb-e-Azb.
“Army chief has visited POF for the second time to see progress of envisaged modernisation and capacity enhancement of POF Wah,” the ISPR said on Tuesday.
The COAS emphasised the need for further technology upgrade in the POF to optimise the factory’s output, and become self-reliant to fulfil the arms and ammunition needs of country’s paramilitary and law enforcement agencies.
General Raheel also directed the officials of POF to explore new markets and focus on increasing military exports.
During his first visit to the POF last year, General Raheel had applauded the POF for its contribution in developing indigenous weaponry and supporting Zarb-e-Azb.
