DHA Lahore scam: Court extends remand of two accused

An accountability court on Tuesday extended physical remand of Hammad Arshad, the owner of Globaco (Pvt) Ltd, and Brigadier (r) Khalid Nazir Butt, former DHA City (Lahore) project director till March 26 in the Rs 16 billion scam.

Earlier, National Accountability Bureau (NAB) officials produced both the accused before judge Khaqan Babar under strict security, on completion of their remand.

The officials submitted that investigations were being carried out and requested the court to extend the physical remand of both the accused.

The court extended the physical remand of the accused till March 26, and directed the officials to produce the accused before the court on expiry of their remand.

The NAB had arrested Hammad Arshad on charges of corruption and cheating people whereas Brigadier (r) Khalid Nazir Butt was arrested on charges of misuse of authority, criminal breach of trust, cheating public at large and misappropriation of funds.
