Former Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) leader Mustafa Kamal will lead a political rally at Mochi gate ground in Lahore, Tanzeem Khidmat-i-Khalq Shehriyaan-i-Lahore chairman Shafiq Qadri said on Monday
However, Qadri did not give any date for the procession.
Qadri also addressed a press conference at Lahore Press Club to announce his support for Kamal. “He is busy in Karachi for a March 23 public gathering. Our delegation, too, will participate in the event. Before that, we will arrange a get-together in Lahore where some of Kamal’s allies will come and speak,” he said.
Qadri said his Tanzeem was a non-political forum consisting of civil society members, lawyers and businessmen. “We support all those who do a good job. We have also supported Operation Zarb-i-Azb.”
“Kamal has done a good job. He is asking people to give up weapons for peace. That’s why we support him,” he said. He said the country, particularly Karachi, was faced with testing times. Peace and stability are the need of the hour for the country’s growth, Qadri said.
He also said that Kamal’s return is positive for Karachi as it will challenge the status quo and encouraged Pakistani’s to support him in this initiative.
He said the Tanzeem would lead from the front in taking forward Kamal’s struggle.
