German-born Jewish physicist Albert Einstein was born on March 14, 1879, in the city of Ulm in Germany.
He has contributed extensively to physics as most of his theories constitute the very basics of modern-day developments in the fields of science and technology. Extensive research work is being done in universities upon his assumptions and mega breakthroughs made in recent past point out to the fact that Einstein was undoubtedly light years ahead of his contemporaries as he was able to accurately predict how things around us worked.
Whether it be the Special theory of Relativity, Photons and the Quantum theory, Cosmology, Photoelectric Effect (for which he was awarded Nobel Prize in 1921) or the recently much-talked-about Gravitational waves – Einstein’s role in enhancing mankind’s thoughts towards the ideas and concepts never to have been perceived before easily stand-out and it is easy to say that humanity is immensely thankful to his concepts.
Einstein took refuge in the United States during the Second World War whilst Jewish persecution from the hands of Adolf Hitler reached new heights in Germany. He received his American citizenship in 1940. His role in diverting the focus of the American and the Allied forces towards making an atomic bomb to beat their Axis, significantly Nazi, counterpart is quite crucial.
Debate on Einstein’s contributions, their pros and cons, is perhaps endless but at the same time he is one figure which dawned the reality upon mankind to think beyond what they can observe and they can surely produce miracles to stun those around them.
