Pakistan set a 158-run target against Sri Lanka with having five wickets in hand in World Twenty20 warm-up match at Eden Gardens in Kolkata today (Monday).

Pakistan won the toss and elected to bat.
Pakistani openers Sharjeel Khan and Ahmed Shahzad made 23 and 18 runs apiece while star batsman and former captain of team Mohammad Hafeez smashed 70 runs.

Wicket keeper Sarfraz Ahmed only hit 17 runs and Umar Akmal scored 19 runs.

On the other hand, captain Shahid Afridi gone for a duck.

Talking about Sri Lankan side, SMSM Senanayake, HMRKB Herath and PVD Chameera took one, one wicket each whereas NLTC Perera snatched two wickets.

Pakistan’s performance in recently held Asia Cup was not satisfactory but the players have come back with a bang by hitting a good target.

Earlier on Sunday, the green shirts participated in a training session at the Eden Gardens under tight security while Afridi said that he was looking forward to playing in front of India s raucous crowds.

Afridi said his team had always been “physically and mentally” prepared for the tournament despite weeks of uncertainty over whether they would be allowed to travel to arch rivals India, hosts of the World T20.

In his first comments since arriving with the team on Saturday night, Afridi said they were confident of success in their first outing against an unknown qualifier on Wednesday and the much-anticipated showdown against India on Saturday.

Afridi said he expected a strong performance from Pakistani pacer Mohammad Amir, who is returning from a five-year spot-fixing ban.

“Amir is a top international bowler and he has given great performances recently,” he said.
