Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam – Fazl (JUI-F) Chief Maulana Fazl-ur-Rehman said the Women Protection Act would be wiped out in the people’s court. He was talking to media here on Sunday.

He said that the people’s court is the most supreme in politics and will wipe out the women’s protection bill.

The women’s protection bill was passed by the Punjab government on 29th February and Governor Rafiq Rajwana had signed the Protection of Women against Violence bill, thereby making it into a law, on 1st March.

As per the bill (which has now become a law) a man can be banished from home for two days if he assaults his wife and would also be required to wear a tracker. The bill also prohibits torture of wives and forbids her from being expunged from the house, in case of a confrontation with her husband.

  1. Whenever in a fix, the politician go to the ' people's court' and the Government goes behind the Parliament. Politics – the dirty game.
