An anti-terrorism court (ATC) in Karachi on Saturday sentenced two activists to 15 years in prison for possessing explosives and illegal weapons.
During the hearing, the convicts were produced before the court. The investigation officers told the court that the convicts were involved in terror-related activities including possession of illegal arms and explosive material. The investigation officers were also adduced evidences against the convicts in the court. The court after observing evidences sentenced Salman and Ishtiaq to 15 years imprisonment and ordered to follow the directives.
It may be added that the culprits belonging to MQM were apprehended from North Nazimabad area of Karachi in 2012. The security personnel also confiscated huge cache of weapons and volatile material from them. The senior police official stated that the Karachi operation was launched by the government which was giving positive outcomes as dozens of extortionists, target killers and terrorists had been held so far. He said stern action would continue until the end of last criminal.
