Local police foiled a bid to smuggle arms into Punjab and made two arrests on Sunday.
ASP Faqirabad Circle said that police on tip-off started snap checking of vehicles at Ring Road Peshawar. During the search of a Punjab bound suspected vehicle, six pistols and more than 8,000 rounds concealed in secret chambers of the vehicle were recovered.
The police took the recovered weapons into custody, arrested two culprits on board and after registering a case against them at respective police station started the investigation.
