The Women’s Parliamentary Caucus (WPC) has expressed grave concern over prolonged and unnecessary delay in nomination of the chairperson of the National Commission on the Status of Women (NCSW).
The WPC meeting was held here in the Parliament House on Friday with MNA and Secretary WPC, Shaista Pervaiz Malik in chair. Representatives of Awaaz National Forum and Aurat Foundation were also present.
During the meeting members of the WPC drafted a resolution urging the government to expedite the process of selection.
Strong reservations were also showed regarding the Peshawar High Court’s (PHC) decision on PK-95 Lower Dir which was earlier nullified by the election commission due to non-participation of women in the by-elections.
