Two robbers were killed while two others managed to escape after an encounter with a police team here on Friday.
Reportedly, a police party approached a four-member gang of robbers that was fleeing after committing a robbery in Abdul Hakim area of Khanewal. Upon seeing the police, the robbers opened fire and tried to escape.
As the police repulsed the attack, two robbers identified as Mukhtar alias Makha and Irfan alias Mani were killed while their two accomplices managed to flee.
Police officials said that the robbers killed in the exchange of fire were wanted by police in many cases and raids were being conducted for their arrest.
