Police have registered an FIR against unidentified people for throwing acid on a man’s face in retaliation for his attempt to save a boy they were beating.
According to police, complainant Sharafat told he was leaving the Multan education board office last Wednesday when he witnessed Waqas Haraj and fifteen others beating a boy Faheem, who used to serve tea at a tea stall.
He said he asked the accused not to beat the boy upon which they blind folded him, put him in a car and took him to some unknown place where they started beating him.
Later, they left the complainant in front of a telephone exchange. According to the complainant, he had just came out of the car when two accused riding a motorcycle reached close to him and threw acid leaving his face injured with burns.
Police have registered FIR under sections 324/34 PPC and section 7 of Anti Terrorism Act against the accused and started investigations.
