Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari on Friday bemoaned the National Accountability Bureau’s (NAB) double standards, saying that no accountability of Orange Line Train and metro bus projects was conducted in Punjab while people were being held answerable in Sindh.

Talking to media after enquiring about the health of senior party leader Aitzaz Ahsan, Bilawal lamented ‘seizure of files’ from the offices of the Sindh Building Control Authority (SBCA) by masked personnel.

He also questioned that had similar episode taken place at the Lahore Development Authority (LDA) offices, the Punjab chief minister would have raised hue and cry.

Earlier, Bilawal visited the residence of PPP Senator Aitzaz Ahsan to inquire about his health. Ahsan had undergone a cardiac surgery for implantation of two stents at a private healthcare centre on Wednesday.

According to reports, the PPP chairman vowed to play a rigorous role in Punjab as he took up certain party matters with Aitzaz Ahsan during his meeting. He also vowed restructuring the PPP at every level.

On Thursday, the PPP chairman visited the residence of slain former Punjab governor Salmaan Taseer to congratulate the family over the safe recovery of Shahbaz Taseer four and a half years after his abduction.

According to a statement issued by a spokesperson for the Bilawal House, the party chief’s visit was a private affair and he would soon visit the province to supervise activities of the PPP.
