The Supreme Court on Thursday dismissed a petition seeking restoration of a plea dismissed earlier by the court in the polls rigging case.
A three-judge bench, headed by Chief Justice Anwar Zaheer Jamali, took up the case for hearing on Thursday.
The petitioner, Riaz Hanif Rahi, said that earlier when he turned up to pursue his case, he came to know that the bench had left the court and his petition had been dismissed.
Upon this, the chief justice snubbed him, saying, “Well, the court should have waited for you (in excess of the scheduled timing) to hear your case”.
The petitioner had filed the petition seeking court’s orders for registration of his earlier petition against rigging in the 2013 general elections.
