Women arrested for looting houses in guise of maids

Special Investigation Unit (SIU) of Islamabad police have recovered gold ornaments worth millions of rupees, cash worth Rs. 4, 10,000 and arrested 12 people, including four women, for allegedly looting houses. Mobile phones and weapons were also recovered from their possession.

According to details, senior police officials took notice of robberies committed by maids and ordered SP (investigation) Muhammad Ilyas to catch the perpetrators. The SP (investigation) formed special teams headed by DSP CIA Bashir Ahmed Noon which included ASIs Tasneem Ahmed, Muhammad Akram Ranjha, Gul Khan, Syed Asif Hussain and others.

Police said the gangsters were involved in looting houses in guise of maids and were identified as Shafia wife of Farooq, Safia wife of Muhammad Safdar, Kausar wife of Munawar Ali, and Naheed wife of Manzoor Ali. They confessed to looting various houses in Islamabad along with their male accomplices Farooq, son of Muhammad Ali, Riaz son of Muhammad Din.

The accused confessed to looting houses in Dhok Malia on June 23, 2015, in sector F-11/3 on August 19, 2015; in sector E-11 on May 7, 2013; in sector F-10/2 on August 1, 2012, in sector F-11/3 on December 10, 2012 and in sector I-10/2 on August 11, 2007.

Police recovered gold ornaments, cash worth Rs. 2, 30,000, two 30-bore pistols and ammunition from their possession.

Likewise, two other robbers Abdul Razaq, son of Taj Muhammad, Fareed son of Saeed were also arrested by SIU police as they looted shops in Mughal Market, Tarnol on June 17, 2015. Police recovered 30 bore pistol and looted cash worth Rs. 100,000 from them. They confessed to committing various robberies in Islamabad and Gujranwala and revealed that one of their accomplices Mehboob was gunned down by Satellite Town police, Gujranwala during a robbery.

Another accused Saeed son of Muhammad Mumtaz was held for taking away bag from vehicle of Najma Firdous at Lake View Park. A hitch hiker Tariq Mehmud son of Samandar Khan was held for taking away mobile phone and purse from vehicle of Muhammad Javed.

Police also nabbed a proclaimed offender Saqib Hussain son of Fiaz Ahmed who was wanted in another criminal case while Saad Naseem was nabbed for alleged involvement in fraudulent activities and embezzlement of millions of rupees.

Senior police officials have appreciated the development and directed all police officials to show effective policing in their respective areas.
