Actress Sonam Kapoor, who is an inspiring image of confidence in the best of outfits at all places, recently took to Twitter to slam the body shamers. The actress, who has always been very comfortable with her body, was further supported by NH10 actress Anushka Sharma.
Sonam Kapoor wrote, “Fat shaming or skinny shaming… It’s still body shaming!”
Sonam, who herself was obese initially, doesn’t take anything from the body shamers. Post her tweet, Sonam was given a thumbs-up by Anushka Sharma.
The trend is Bollywood seems to be drifting from casting zero figure actresses to giving an opportunity to those who do not bother about flaunting their fit or fat figure on screen.
The industry seems to have bid goodbye to those old days where all that actresses cared about was their waist inches.
Scripts do not necessarily demand figures, but talent is on their agenda.
This doesn’t’ only apply for films, but also that we must also accept the fact that television which is open to all doesn’t limit their actresses to their figures. There is much more to look forward to beyond that.
This is what inspires women in Bollywood actors to come out and speak against body shamers.
Bollywood has accepted everyone with open arms, and with rivalries narrowing down we are more than happy to see more people getting opportunities in movies.
