Provincial Education Minister Rana Mashhood Ahmad Khan has said that the Punjab government has decided to celebrate Pakistan Day with all the enthusiasm and fervor that it warrants. An exhibition of pictures and books has also been arranged at the Al-Hamra Arts Council in this regard, which will last for a week.
He stressed the need for following the Quaid-i-Azam’s vision adding that young students were the trailblazers who paved the way for the uphill task of the establishment of Pakistan. He advised the young students to increase their knowledge about the ideology of Pakistan and the achievement of Pakistan movement’s workers and leaders, who struggled for an independent homeland of their own.
He expressed these views while addressing a special ceremony held at the commencement of the Pakistan Day celebrations jointly organized by the Nazaria-e-Pakistan Trust and the Pakistan Movement Workers Trust at the Aiwan-e-Karkunan-e-Tehreek-e-Pakistan. A series of special lectures will be delivered up to March 23. The first lecture was entitled “The objective of the Lahore Resolution – the establishment of a modern, Islamic, democratic and welfare state.”
The speakers included the former President of Pakistan Rafique Ahmed Tarar, the former Lahore High Court Bar President Sahibzada Syed Kaleem Ahmad Khursheed and Nazaria-i-Pakistan Trust Secretary Shahid Rasheed, who also conducted the proceedings. The Nazaria-i-Pakistan Trust Vice Chairman Prof. Dr. Rafique Ahmad, Col (r) Ikram Ullah Khan, Maualana Muhammad Shafi Josh. A large number of students and teachers attended the lecture.
