Pakistan Railways chalks out 5-year plan to rehabilitate network

Pakistan Railways has chalked out five years plan for rehabilitation of railways network.

An official of Ministry of Railways told state-run agency that rehabilitation and up-gradation of Karachi to Peshawar track is being carried out under China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) project.

The official said the railways line from Karachi to Peshawar was fairly in good condition, however, up-gradation was required to run speedy trains.

He said over eleven thousand two hundred million rupees have been allocated for rehabilitation of track and allied structures in the current financial year.
