Pakistan is actively participating in the international community to reconstruct and rehabilitate war-ridden Afghanistan.

The Pakistan government has so far allocated $500 million for the renovation of the neighbouring country, under Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s special programme. So far thirteen projects have been completed while fifteen ongoing projects are at different stages of completion.

Under this grant, various development projects in health, education and infrastructure sectors were jointly identified by the Governments of Afghanistan and Pakistan in the Joint Economic Commission meetings held from time to time.

Public sector agencies including National Logistic Cell, Frontier Works Organization and NESPAK have been engaged for the execution of these projects.
