Over 120 Hindu pilgrims arrived in the provincial capital on Saturday through Wagah Border to celebrate Shivaratri festival.
Evacuee Trust Property Board (ETPB) Chairman Siddiqul Farooq, Secretary Khalid Ali, Hindu leader Manohar Chand, Sikh leader Sardar Sham Singh and board officers accorded a warm welcome to the visitors.
After their arrival, the pilgrims went to Gurdwara Dera Sahib where they will stay for a day. They will also participate in the main ceremony at Katas Raj Mandir Chakwal.
ETPB Chairman Farooq and minority parliamentarians will also participate in the main ceremony.
The Hindu pilgrims will stay in Krishna Mandir for two days after returning to Lahore and perform their rituals. They will return to India on March 11.
Speaking on the occasion, the ETPB chairman said the board was providing all facilities including foolproof security, accommodation, medical and travel facilities to the pilgrims.
The Walled City of Lahore Authority, under a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed with ETPB, will organize the visit of pilgrims to historical places of walled city free of cost, he added.
The ETPB chairman stressed the need for good relations between Paksitan and India for durable peace in the region.
Leader of the delegation Satish Kumar said that cordial relations between Pakistan and India were imperative which would help enhance trade and resolve all other issues facing both the countries.
