Religious parties to meet March 15 to discuss Qadri’s hanging, Blasphemy Law and the Women Protection Act
Leader of Jamiat-e-Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) Maulana Fazlur Rehman said on Saturday that the execution of Mumtaz Qadri was a judicial murder.
Talking to media persons at his residence in Islamabad after concluding a session of religious parties, Rehman said another meeting of religious parties would be held at Mansoora in Lahore on March 15 where all important matters will be discussed.
He said that Mumtaz Qadri’s hanging, Blasphemy Law and the Women Protection Act passed by the Punjab Assembly would be discussed in the meeting.
Maulana Fazlur Rehman said that his party was ready to come on the roads for protecting the Blasphemy Law and the family system. He said that the field was being cleared for repealing the Blasphemy Law by executing Mumtaz Qadri.
He said several articles of the Women Protection Bill are repugnant to the Islamic teachings as well as the Constitution of Pakistan. He said that efforts are being made to make Pakistan a secular state, adding that the religious parties would resist the effort with full force.
Jamat-e-Islami Amir Senator Siraj-ul-Haq, JUP leader Maulana Anas Noorani and other leaders of the religious parties were present on the occasion.
